Valkyria: Azure Revolution director Takeshi Ozawa and producer Yoichi Shimosato discussed some details for the upcoming title in the most recent issue of Dengeki Playstation, which was spotted by Hachima and Silicon Era. The duo discussed several aspects of the game, including permadeath. About losing a character, Ozawa said: “This is something that we’ve discussed a lot, but since death is a theme this time around, if we don’t have such deaths then the feeling of fear that comes with it won’t reach the player, so we’ve decided to go with it,” while Shimosato added that there are motivations placed throughout the game to keep characters alive.
The director and producer also discussed an upcoming demo, saying that before this game, they had released demo’s too close to launch for them to be of any developmental use. “For this reason, we aim to show off the system as soon as possible, and keep having it evolve. It’s a title that we’d like to make together with the players,” he said. Ozawa also clarified that the demo will not be a beta.
We got a quick look at the game recently in a teaser video, and have learned that the game will release in late 2016 for PlayStation 4 in Japan. A Western release (NA and EU) has not yet been confirmed.
