Developer Ghost Games has detailed the first update for Need for Speed, the franchise reboot that was released earlier this month, and expects the update to go live before the end of the month.
Aside from general bug fixes, tweaks and improvements, the update will address what Ghost Games calls “AI Catch Up,” otherwise known as rubber banding or the ability of the AI to best you in a race that you are currently winning.
A full list of changes coming in the first update for Need for Speed can be read below:
- More balanced ‘AI Catch Up’
- New Wrap Editor features:
- Mirror functionality
- Improved colour picker
- Hoonicorn and Morohoshi-San Diablo
- Gifted upon completion of their respective narrative threads
- First look at neons
- Early in development version on Morohoshi-San’s Diablo
- REP increase 50-60
- 3x Trophies & Achievements
- New daily challenges
- x30 new pre-set wraps

Ghost Games also promises that it will continue to update Need for Speed in this manner for the foreseeable future of the game. This post-launch development plan for Need for Speed is something Ghost Games committed to when it announced that it would not offer any paid DLC, opting instead to offer any downloadable post-launch content for free.
