This year’s BlizzCon opening ceremony brought huge news about everyone’s favorite Blizzard titles, and Heroes of the Storm was no exception. Today, Blizzard announced several new Heroes and Battlegrounds, which are set to arrive in future game updates although no exact date has been specified.
Among the new heroes is Lunara: First Daughter of Cenarius. “Lunara is an agile ranged attacker who effortlessly bounds in and out of the fray, doling out the fury of the wilds without prejudice,” reads her description. “Those who snap even one twig underfoot will quickly be met by a volley of twisted spears and afflicted by deadly, debilitating toxins that will make them easy prey.”
There is also Greymane, Lord of the Worgen. Blizzard describes him as “a versatile and formidable threat in any combat situation.” While Lunara is a Ranged Assassin, Greymane is a Melee Warrior.
Lastly, Blizzard unveiled an exciting new feature in Cho’Gall, Twilight’s Hammer Chieftain: “Cho’gall will be a unique addition to Heroes of the Storm who, for the first time ever, will allow two players to team up to control one Hero.” This kind of gameplay is unprecedented for Heroes of the Storm.
One of the new Battlegrounds is the Towers of Doom, which got its own development trailer.
In addition to the Towers of Doom, Blizzard announced a new set of Arena Battlegrounds which pit two teams of five against each other in a best-of-three competition.
