Looks like Warhammer 40,000’s Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack has been dethroned as the year’s best DLC name with the November 5 release of Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition.
The Deathinitive Edition will include the base game, all DLC, and a graphics engine that supports 1080p. There has been some "reworked and tuned game balancing and loot distribution” as well. Players who already owned the Darksiders Franchise Pack on Steam will receive the new edition as soon as it goes live for free. The Franchise Pack will then be removed from Steam.
Unfortunately, players who bought most of the DLC separately rather than getting the Franchise Pack containing all of them do not receive the free upgrade. Many players complained to Nordic Games but the company pointed out that, while the Deathinitive Edition retails for $30, those who have the original game can still get it for $6 with the 80% discount.
Players who own the original game get an 80% discount code if they download the Deathinitive Edition during its first week, and people who have never purchased any of its iterations can get it at a 20% discount if they buy it within the first week on Steam.
Darksiders 2 is available for PC.
