The Last of Us Part 1’s Firefly Edition Is Sold Out Already

June 10, 2022 by Chirag Pattni

It didn’t take long for fans to grab the most pricey edition of this remake.

The Last of Us Part 1 was accidentally leaked yesterday just before an official announcement at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest presentation. Numerous editions of the game were made available for pre-order after the reveal and the most expensive of them, the Firefly Edition, has already sold out in the US.

The Last of Us Part 1 is a remake of the original The Last of Us, launching on PS5 on September 2nd. It will also be released on PC soon after, although no exact date was given.

All pre-orders of The Last of Us Part 1 will include bonus weapon parts and in-game supplements that can be used for skill and weapon upgrades. The standard edition will include The Last of Us Part 1 as well as the Left Behind expansion, and it will be sold for $69.99.

The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99, and will allow players to have early access to these in-game items:

• Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade

• Increased Healing Speed Skill

• Increased Crafting Speed Skill

• Explosive Arrows Gameplay Modifier

• 9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade

• Speedrun Mode

• Dither Punk Filter

• Six Weapon Skins: Silver Filigree 9mm Pistol, Black Gold 9mm Pistol, Rubber Tactical Shotgun, Sculpted Oak Shotgun, Carbon Black Bow, Arctic White Bow

Finally, there’s the sold-out Firefly Edition which costs $99.99. It comes with all of the previously mentioned content, as well as a limited edition Steelbook case and a comic book called The Last of Us: American Dreams. As of right now, the Firefly Edition is only available to purchase in the US and only from PlayStation Direct.

The Last of Us Part 1 looks to be an impressive improvement over prior versions of the game. Rochelle Snyder, a senior communications manager at Naughty Dog, explains, “We’ve implemented modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options.” She goes on to say, “Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5’s powerful hardware, we also implemented 3D Audio, haptics, and adaptive triggers.”

Hopefully, fans that want the Firefly Edition will be able to get their hands on a pre-order in the future.
