Black Desert, the upcoming MMORPG from developer Pearl Abyss and western publisher Daum Games, has a new content trailer today. The video, above, shows off the game’s character customization options, albeit in a quick manner. It appears that the player will be able to customize their avatar’s face by directly interacting with it as opposed to only sliders. Also depicted is what looks like home customization, horse wrangling and customization, and fishing.
The game is touted as an “open world action MMORPG with next generation visuals and skilled based combat that will rejuvenate the genre.” It was announced last week that the game, while free-to-play in Asia, will require a one-time purchase in North America and Europe. Guild Wars 2 uses a similar model. The game was originally only announced for Japan and Asia.
“We are putting a lot of effort in the game’s Western localization,” said Daniel Loehr,Project Manager at Daum Games, in a recent press release. “We are localizing approximate 2.5 million words into English, German and French. Black Desert Online’s content and gameplay systems will be adjusted to accommodate Western players and our differentiating business model.”
Black Desert Online will launch on the PC in early 2016 in North America and Europe.
