Scibblenauts and Drawn to Life developer 5th Cell has announced a crowdfunding campaign for free-to-play action-RPG game Anchors in the Drift on Fig.
The game is an isometric dungeon crawler and allows players to create their own attacks by fusing various commands together as cards. Cards are unlocked by simply playing through the game, spending in-game currency, and using real world money.
Anchors in the Drift is set in the future, following an invasion of Earth by the inter-dimensional empire known as the Domain, which has transformed the world into a "quantum ocean" by messing around with time. The ocean is filled with islands which represent different civilizations from throughout history.
Among the places you'll discover are Ancient Egypt, Feudal Japan, and World War II Britain.
Every 'Remnant', or island, features its own random modifiers, such as granting enemies health buffs, faster movement, or increased damage. There will also be unpredicatable environmental conditions such as fog, earthquakes, and lightning storms.
A campaing called Warfront is available, along with an endless mode titled Recon, which unlocks more gear than in Warfront.
5th Cell is seeking $500,000 over the next 30 days to help develop the game. Over $75,000 has already been raised.
Anchors in the Drift is expected to launch on PC in summer 2016.
