DICE has revealed that Star Wars Battlefront will offer more single-player content than the recent beta may have indicated. To get newcomers acquainted with the FPS, players will be able to participate in Training Missions before heading out into multiplayer mode.
These Training Missions will consist of five different tutorials, teaching the player about the various weapons, Star Cards, and basic mechanics of the game. You'll also have a chance to practice your flying skills in the Beggar's Canyon Training Mission, which puts you in the seat of an X-Wing. Likewise, you'll be able to pilot AT-ST Walkers and speeder bikes. There's also a training mission that puts you in the role of Darth Vader, allowing you to learn what each of his powers does.
Interestingly, these training missions can be done alone or with a friend in co-op, and are designed in the context of familiar Star Wars locations and events.
For veteran players, the Training Missions will serve as challenges as they gauge your performance with stars.
In addition to revealing Training Missions, DICE has also revealed new modes called Battles and Hero Battles. These are competitive one-on-one modes that put you up against a friend with a squad of AI-controlled soldiers by your side.
Opponents will kill each other until one of them accrues tokens that equal points. Tokens can be collected by killing enemies. The tougher the enemy, the more points their tokens give.
Star Wars Battlefront will be out on November 17 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
