With the release of Halo 5: Guardians just says away, Microsoft has announced that characters from the game will be making their way into Minecraft. Starting October 23, players will be able to play as Master Chief and Spartan Locke along with the rest of the members of Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris.
This update will be released for free on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 editions of Minecraft as an update to the Minecraft: Halo Edition mash-up pack that sells for $3.99, so you'll need to own that first.
The contents have been designed by 4J Studios and also includes 40 character skins depicting Halo characters, a Halo-themed texture set, themed menus, and user interface. It also includes craftable items and 31 music tracks across the Halo franchise. There are also Halo vehicles and pre-made worlds such as Silent Cartographer, Sandtrap, Valhalla, and more.
Here's what's included in the update:
Blue Team:
- Spartan-117 The Master Chief
- Spartan-104 Fredric
- Spartan-087 Kelly
- Spartan-058 Linda
Fireteam Osiris:
- Spartan Locke
- Spartan Buck
- Spartan Tanaka
- Spartan Vale
Halo 5: Guardians launches on October 27 for the Xbox One.
