An independent outfit called No Matter Studios has just unveiled a new game looking very much like a spiritual successor to Team Ico's classic action-adventure Shadow of the Colossus.
It's called Prey for the Gods, and the reveal trailer features a female protagonist who appears to take on a gigantic stone creature in the frozen wilderness. Armed with a bow, the character can be seen scaling the giant before she's picked up and threatened to be swallowed whole by the beast.
According to the press brief, the game is set on a desolate frozen island, where the presently nameless character's only chance of survival is to destroy the very gods she believes in.
The San Francisco-based studio is comprised of three lone developers "working in the evening hours to create the game they've always wanted," which makes the whole thing look all the more impressive. Of course, we'll have to wait to see what else the team has to offer.
In addition to the trailer, the team has launched an official website for the game. No further details about the game have been provided.
