Ubisoft Confirm 60 FPS Boost For Assassin’s Creed Origins On June 2nd

May 31, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

It turns out that players didn’t have that long to wait for an update on the potential FPS boost for Assassin’s Creed Origins after all. Fresh off the back of yesterday’s teaser tweet, Ubisoft has now confirmed that it will be implementing a boost of 60FPS for Assassin’s Creed Origins for players on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and on PlayStation 5. This will be available from Thursday, June 2nd.

You've been waiting, and now the winds of Egypt are calling….

Assassin’s Creed Origins is a huge open-world adventure that takes place across a variety of stunning locations set in ancient Egypt. As protagonist Bayek, the world is ripe for exploration as you hunt down and deal with The Order of The Ancients, who are just all-around bad dudes, frankly. The game was reportedly being worked on by Ubisoft in terms of getting an FPS update back in December last year, but until today there’d only been speculation as to when we may actually see it arrive.

This news will certainly come as a nice sweetener for those getting ready to explore the deserts of ancient Egypt on their Xbox Series S/X consoles, as the gorgeously-detailed game is also set to launch on Xbox Game Pass on June 7th. This means that gamers on the latest-generation consoles will be able to enjoy the game in ultra-smooth quality with the upcoming frames-per-second boost. Those on the PlayStation 5 will also be able to explore the lush open-world environments Assassin’s Creed Origins has to offer at the best possible framerate from Thursday.

With the community having asked for this update for quite some time, the reaction over on social media has been understandably overwhelmingly positive, with many itching to get their hands on the latest patch for what many consider to be the best Assassin’s Creed game in the franchise. This is the first time the game has had an update to suit the latest console generation, so it should be exciting to see how it looks and runs after Thursday’s patch is applied.

Assassin’s Creed Origins lands on Xbox Game Pass on June 7th.
