Techland has announced that the upcoming Dying Light expansion, The Following, is due for release in the first quarter of 2016. The expansion is expected to add all new story content taking place after the original game, as well as driveable vehicles for players to use alone or in co-op.
The studio's official statement said that the 2016 release would allow them more time to develop all the content and surprises they have planned, and noted that while a specific date has not yet been shared, they will announce the exact day of release when they are able to.
In the expansion, the game's protagonist Kyle Crane travels into the wide-open countryside where he encounters a strange group of cultists who may have information about how the zombie outbreak happened.
In addition, one of the expansion's new vehicles can be fully upgraded, customized, and features its own skill tree. The DLC is included within the DLC season pass for the game and can be bought separately for $15. It will be out for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
