Star Wars Battlefront’s beta is ongoing, but there’s a problem with it now that the developers are still fixing. If you’ve been playing you likely already know what it is.
Hoth’s Walker Mission is fundamentally broken, because everything is stacked against the rebels. 20 rebels face 40 Imperial soldiers, and while the soldiers have their Walkers, the rebels don’t have their land units. There are even more issues, such as uplink placement, but thankfully, DICE is already on the case.
On Twitter, some DICE employees explained changes being worked on now, such as the AT-AT Walker being able to lower its head enough so it can be towcabled. This will still take effort on behalf of the rebels, but as it is players can’t even do it.
Another DICE employee pointed out they went to the beta for feedback on asymmetrical modes because they think these modes have a lot of potential, but also come saddled with risks.
Based on the tenor of these tweets, it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to fix the mode in time for beta, but with the official release coming up, it’s good that they caught the need to make these changes now.
Star Wars Battlefront will be released on November 17th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
