A huge influx of information on the next Legend of Zelda installment has surfaced in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, a magazine most gamers would know as the go to source for Nintendo tips and tricks back in the old days.
The information released not only includes sensitive ideas that drive the plot, details regarding characters from Skyloft but also screenshots of the game. Apparently you get a day/night cycle, 3 HUD options and a big trusting friendship with the eponymous Zelda.
More info found in the pages of the magazine:
- The Skyward Sword’s name is the “Goddess Sword”. Link inherits the weapon before gaining his iconic hero uniform.
- Link has a rival named Groose, who sets his eyes on Zelda and seems to fancy her. He also has a couple of minions, Cawlin and Stritch.
- Skyloft is massive, with multiple areas to visit, like a residential area, bazaar, plaza and even a toilet!
- In typical super-hero fashion, Zelda almost tells something to Link she’s been holding on to for a while but is interrupted by a tornado.
- You can knock background objects over, like in Wind Waker.
- The game’s saving system is changed a little bit, in that you have to save at save statues, but you no longer get sent to the beginning of an area.
- There is a day/night system in the game, but not a time based one. You have to “go to bed” in-game in order to change the time of day.
- Considering that the game’s release is less than a couple of months away, you should expect more info coming in soon.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is slated for release on November 18th in Europe and 20th in North America on the Wii.
