WWE 2K16 Top 10 New Features

October 5, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

These features may not be for everyone, but they do make it a considerably different game than prior installments.

Backyardgaming shares for us the top 10 new features of upcoming wrestling game WWE 2K16. You can subscribe to him on YouTube here.

·         Improved Hit Detection

Hit detection has been improved, not only in terms of hitboxes and responsiveness, but in how the wrestling system seems more logical.

·         MyCareer 2.0

MyCareer has been considerably improved, with opportunities to define your character in interviews, interference, etc. You don’t even have to gun to be world champion if you don’t want to.

·         New Animations

There are considerably more animations for similar but distinguishable actions. As a result, the game is more simlike, and is in fact better at this than other WWE games prior.

·         Face Scanning

The face scanning feature now allows you to do some customization on the character, giving you artistic license to modify real life to let you mold your identity even further.

·         Roster

The roster is improved incredibly by a recent infusion of talent, including the likes of Kevin Owens, Hideo Itami, and Finn Balor.

·         Terminator

This isn’t for everyone, but Terminator is a cool and logical addition to the roster for what is essentially Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WWE 2K game. The Rattlesnake takes some inspiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s defining 80s and 90s role, and really, some fans have always wanted this.

·         Submissions

Submissions are no longer simplistic bars that give the attacker the default advantage. There are analog based circle systems, that let the prone wrestler evade her or his attacker’s attacks. There are also rock-paper-scissor elements in some situations.

·         Trio commentary

John Bradshaw Layfield jumps into the default commentary team of Michael Cole and The King to add more flavor to the move-by-move roundups. 2K has also reassembled commentators from Austin’s key moments, including ECW one man loudspeaker Joey Styles a

·         Create-A-Superstar materials

Among the new materials players can use to create their superstars are shaping masks from scratch and hair color, which you spray in like in real life, so you can also layer and simulate other real hair effects.

·         KOF Desperation Move style meter

Lastly, details are sparse on this system that’s been observed in previews, but it seems to be  a system that notes when your health is low and gives you extra meter to pull off last minute saving power moves. The King Of Fighters games had such a system for their Desperation Moves.

WWE 2K16 will be released on October 27 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
