Bad news for iPhone users who bought Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
Capcom has revealed on the game’s App Store page that it is not compatible with iOS9, and Capcom has no plans of making the game compatible.
In simple terms, this leaves iPhone users with two options; keep their current iPhones not updated, or to stop playing altogether. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite was only made available on iPhone last July 2014.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite was originally released on PlayStation Portable in 2008, and stands as the third best selling game on the platform at 3.6 million copies. Since that time, the Monster Hunter franchise jumped ship to Nintendo platforms, to even greater success. Monster Hunter 4 has now sold a cumulative 3.9 million units worldwide, notably exceeding one million units in the West, and a total of four more Monster Hunter titles are in development.
With this news, it seems unlikely that Monster Hunter will be coming back to mobile.
