Microsoft released a new trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider today that shows protagonist Lara Croft climbing trees, scaling mountains, and, of course, raiding a tomb.
The trailer includes narration that talks about “pioneers” of humanity that “reach beyond the boundaries of human experience” while Croft goes about her business only to come into contact with hostile forces that don’t seem to happy about her plundering in their underground temple.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to Xbox One Nov. 10 as part of a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft. The sequel to 2013’s Tomb Raider will also grace other platforms like the PC in early 2016 and the PlayStation 4 in winter 2016.
Last month, developer Crystal Dynamics released an alternative playthrough of the same Rise of the Tomb Raider mission demoed at the 2015 Microsoft Gamescom press conference. This time, the mission was approached from a non-lethal standpoint, to emphasize that killing will not always be required.
Current Xbox Live Gold members can download Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Xbox One for free right now – a perfect primer for Rise of the Tomb Raider’s release on Nov. 10, that is unless you plan to pick up Fallout 4 instead.
