2K Sports has revealed their final roster for WWE 2K16. Surprisingly enough, the fallout of the announcement has led to them apologizing for their roster choices.
What is the matter? The matter is that the final roster has been confirmed to not include the Four Horsewomen, namely, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley. All four are active and up-and-coming wrestlers in the Divas division, and feuding with many wrestlers who did make it in the game, including Paige, Naomi, and the Bellas.
As some fans have pointed out, this is a particularly egregious omission, considering not only did 2K Sports have promised the bigger roster in the series, but that roster includes wrestlers no longer in active competition. In fact, one of the final announced wrestlers, former ECW Triple Crown champion Mikey Whipwreck, never competed in the WWE.
Even more astoundingly, 2K Sports’ apology comes with a clarification that the four will not be added as DLC later. It is possible that 2K failed in their negotiations with WWE to get these fresh-off-NXT competitors, and as a result cannot even go into detail regarding the situation.
You can see the final roster additions and the full statement from 2K Sports below. WWE 2K16 will be released on October 27, 2015 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
These are the final announced wrestlers:
Big E, Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt, Brian Pillman, Enzo Amore, Colin Cassady, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Konnor, Viktor, Mark Henry, Mikey Whipwreck, Ricky Steamboat, Rusev, Savio Vega, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, Sting (late ’90s version), Sting (’80s version), Stunning Steve Austin, Undertaker (American Badass version) and Undertaker (Ministry of Darkness version).

With our final roster reveal this past Monday, it was awesome seeing the excitement for The New Day, Enzo and Cass, Mikey Whipwreck, and more. But it was clear that some in the community are frustrated by the lack of the newer Divas added to the main WWE roster recently.
We pushed as hard as we could to include Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley in WWE 2k16, but it simply did not work out for various reasons. While we are not divulging full details on WWE 2K16's post-launch plans just yet, we can confirm that the Four Horsewomen will not be available as DLC.
We are proud to have and built the largest WWE roster to date featuring the most Divas ever. The WWE 2K16 disc includes all of the Divas on the main roster at the time we locked it in (13 playable in total).
We all agree the Divas Revolution is great for business and look forward to celebrating the Divas even more in future WWE 2K titles.
