Classic PlayStation Game Shatter is Getting a Remaster

May 18, 2022 by John McDonald

Remember this? Of course you do!

The PlayStation 3 was a console for the gods – so many great titles were available for that platform and one of them was Shatter from 2009. Now, this game had it all, from exquisite gameplay to a heavy soundtrack that was worth the admission fee alone. But if you were one of the few people that didn’t play this game all those years ago, then you’re in luck because the game is getting remastered and is scheduled for release later in the year.

Don’t be alarmed, your eyes are not playing tricks on you, this is actually happening. And the good news doesn’t end there because the remastered version will also be available on more consoles than it previously was. So, not only will it be released on PlayStation 4, and 5, but it will also reach the screens of Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac. Words cannot describe how you’re feeling right now, right?

The announcement also came with a brand-new trailer for the Shatter Remastered Deluxe version, which you can watch below.

The developers behind the game are PikPok, and to sell it to you even more than we already have, they spoke about what to expect: “Progress through richly-detailed sci-fi inspired stages with improved VFX that will be running at native 4K 120 fps, finely tuned innovative gameplay mechanics, and a completely remixed soundtrack in 5.1 surround sound.” They’re really throwing out the big guns with this one.

The Shatter remaster will be one of those games that are easy to enjoy and get to grips with, but to master it, well, that takes a lot of skill and time. But what you will get is an intense arcade action experience that feels right at home on all of these newer platforms.

We’re sure that you are eager to get your hands on Shatter already, so the good news is that you can add it to your Steam Wishlist now. You’ll be experiencing it before you know it.
