When it comes to Pokemon, there has often been one thing that has held people back in terms of truly “catching them all”. That would be the ability to transfer the Pokemon you caught in full to the new games, and then the ones after that and so on and so forth. That way you don’t lose who you caught, and who you raised, as you try and catch the next generation. Enter Pokemon Home, a service that allows you to store all the Pokemon you’ve caught from a large variety of Pokemon titles.
The catch? Well, when it first came out, it didn’t cover all the games, nor did it cover some of the more recent ones when they came out like Pokemon Legends Arceus along with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. That being said, that has now been fixed.
As you can put Arceus, BD and SP Pokemon into the service, as well as transfer compatible Pokemon from your Home library into the games without issue. Even if they’re shiny Pokemon, you can put them in. Plus, in a nice little reference, if you put your Pokemon into a game like Arceus with a Pokeball that it doesn’t recognize? It’ll give it a new look and a reference as a “Strange Ball”.
Strange indeed!
All in all, this will delight many, not the least of which is because they might have been missing key Pokemon that could’ve only been caught in these games. Not the least of which was Arceus, who hasn’t been the easiest to get over the years.
Of course, the next big hurdle for Pokemon Home is making sure that it’s ready for the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet later this year. Because you can bet Pokemon fans are going to put Gen 9 creatures into the service.
