A bunch of PlayStation 2 games have been rated for PlayStation 4.
These are all Sony owned games: Ape Escape 2, Dark Cloud 2 (Dark Chronicle), and Twisted Metal: Black. These were also ratings from Europe based PEGI, so you may want to put that excitement in check if you don’t live in the region.
Still, this is an encouraging sign that PlayStation 2 games are coming to the latest generation PlayStation. The most recently available game among these is Twisted Metal: Black, which is available as a PlayStation 2 classic download on PlayStation 3.
Our source speculates that if Sony is making such an announcement, they will be doing it at the upcoming SCEJA press con for Tokyo Game Show. It will be held at September 15 from 16:00 to 17:30 Japan time.
Of course if you are a PlayStation 4 owner you would want this, but what do you think are the actual chances it will happen? What PlayStation 2 games would you like to get the digital rerelease treatment? And would you be willing to rent these games via PlayStation Now? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
