2K Sports has confirmed the 2003-2004 Minnesota Timberwolves and the 2006–2007 Cleveland Cavaliers as the last two classic teams to be added to NBA 2K16. This is, of course, great news for fans of Kevin Garnett and LeBron James

The 2003-2004 Minnesota Timberwolves finished the Western Conference with a record 58-24. They set the franchise record for wins this season, as well as the only time they won their division championship. Kevin Garnett earned the year’s MVP.
Joining Garnett was controversial All-Star player Latrell Sprewell, and Sam Cassell, who helped the Rockets win two championships. Garnett, Cassell, and Sprewell formed the Big Three, and only fell in the Western Conference Finals to an even more talent filled LA Lakers, who had Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Gary Payton, and Karl Malone.
The 2006-2007 Cleveland Cavaliers were champions in the Eastern Conference, and finished 2nd in the Central Division. This was a record season for LeBron James. Although LeBron did not get the MVP rub, he set multiple NBA records, earned his way to the All-Star team, and saw his star rise.
LeBron led the Cavaliers all the way to that season’s Finals, trouncing the Wizards in the first round of the Playoffs, avenging themselves on the New Jersey Nets in the Eastern semis, and taking a closely contested Eastern Finals from the Detroit Pistons. Although LeBron and the Cavaliers eventually fell to the San Antonio Spurs in the finals, this was definitely the tipping point in LeBron’s path to superstardom.
Fans of Kevin and LeBron are certain to be happy with these additions, but are you happy with this choice? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
NBA 2K16 will be released on September 29, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox 360.
