Rockstar Games has announced that it will cease updating GTA Online on Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms.
"We always knew there might be a point where we would reach the technical capacity of what the older generation of consoles can handle as each downloadable update requires additional memory both for assets and for additional scripting," said Rockstar in a statement to Kotaku UK.
The studio says that they have optimized the game to squeeze as much memory as they could out of the last-gen systems, but adding new content to the game will cause instability and break the games.
If you want to get the most out of GTA Online, we recommend picking up Grand Theft Auto V for a current-gen console or the PC.
