As we noted in a previous report, Apple will be holding its yearly event in San Francisco this year, where it's expected to unveil a new iPhone model. However, what most people aren't expecting from the event is a focus on gaming.
The New York Times put up a report stating that Apple plans to unveil a new version of the Apple TV at the event, which takes place this Wednesday. Normally, Apple TV allows users to watch videos or use video-focused applications by hooking it up with their TV.
According to the report, the new Apple TV will be expanding its reach to gaming and even come with its own game controller, made possible by the inclusion of more powerful hardware. It's expected to be priced at $150, much lower than the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U consoles.
We'll be tuned in to the event to cover the unveiling of the new platform, if and when details of it are revealed by Apple.
