Darksiders Devs Launch Kickstarter for Battle Chasers: Nightwar

September 8, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

The makers of Darksiders have launched a Kickstarter campaign for their newest game.

Disclosure: I backed the Kickstarter at the $20 tier.

Joe Maduereira and Ryan Stefanelli, the principal developers of the Darksiders games, have launched a Kickstarter for their latest game, Battle Chasers: Nightwar.

The game is inspired by classic console games from Japan, featuring dungeon delving, turn-based combat in JRPG format, and randomly generated content. More than just a roguelike, the game is set to offer plenty of story, as well.

The game draws its inspirations from the likes of Final Fantasy, Suikoden, Chrono Trigger, and Phantasy Star.

It's being designed for the PC on Steam and GOG, with Xbox One and PS4 versions as stretch goals. If it's funded, the studio plans to release it in December 2016.

The developers have posted a pitch video, which contains some early gameplay footage. You can back it on Kickstarter.
