NBA 2K16 Ghetto Footage; Rumored Gameplay Improvements

September 8, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Our source doesn’t believe that 2K Sports fixed as much as the previewers claim, but then again, they got to play it.

ChrisSmoove shares some footage and information for us regarding NBA 2K16. Some fans have gotten a taste of the game, and claimed some changes he is not quite ready to believe yet. Learn more about what Chris has to say below, and subscribe to his YouTube channel here.

First off, we get some off the shoulder footage, so quality isn’t ideal. This does not just relate to the quality of the footage, but honestly, the players demoing the game as well.

Chris tells us the early reception based on the demo has been positive so far. Keeping in mind that playing a demo limits how much previewers get to experience, everything previewers have experienced is nominal, and as mentioned earlier, there are even some improvements that he isn’t sure has been implemented yet.

So, one claim he heard is that the zigzag cheese that’s plagued earlier games is now gone. Zigzag cheese exists in the first place because of the holes in 2K’s gameplay systems. When the plays start out, offensive players are faster than defensive, and when the tables turn, the defensive players pick up momentum over offensive players. These bad player movements cause the game to be less realistic a sim than it should be.

Another apparently fixed system is the rebounds, which has always been broken. Zigzag movements have always been broken too, and ultimately, Chis credits to skepticism to developers always promising bigger and better every time and not always delivering.

Do you think 2K Sports can deliver on what they promise this time? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

NBA 2K16 A Spike Lee Joint will be released this  September 29, 2015 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Windows, and Xbox 360.
