WWE 2K16’s Roster Just Got Updated With Attitude

September 7, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Many of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s contemporaries in his prime have been confirmed for the game.

WWE and 2K Sports have made an interesting update to the WWE 2K16 roster.

This time, an additional 22 superstars, mostly from the Attitude era of the WWE, have been added in. These were wrestlers active around the same time Stone Cold Steve Austin rose to superstardom, and some have not been seen near a WWE ring for years.

Attitude era fans will also note some very obvious omissions, such as Ahmed Johnson, who may not have been able to negotiate contracts with 2K Sports, or are simply not interested.  Of course, they may be appearing later.

One returning wrestler who should be of interest is Mick Foley, who famously bowed out of his Legends contract when he felt he didn’t get paid his due from WWE 2K14. Foley recently returned to working with WWE, so this was no surprise, but fans will enjoy having the opportunity to play his different personas, including Dude Love.

This week’s confirmed WWE 2K16 superstars are:

·         Cactus Jack

·         Dude Love

·         Mankind

·         Faarooq

·         Kama Mustafa (The Godfather)

·         D'Lo Brown (The Nation of Domination)

·         Rikishi

·         Vader

·         X-Pac

·         Jim Neidhart

·         Bret Hart

·         Billy Gunn

·         The British Bulldog

·         Christian

·         Damien Sandow

·         Haku

·         The Honky Tonk Man

·         Ken Shamrock

·         Paul Wight

·         Shane McMahon

·         Shawn Michaels

·         Vince McMahon

WWE 2K16 will be released on October 27 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Are there any Atttitude era wrestlers or superstars you would like to see make it in the game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments. Of course, you can also check out Dude Love's entrance above.
