Microsoft has just announced that the original Borderlands will be playable on Xbox One once the system goes live with the Backward Compatibility update this November.
Gearbox's open-world FPS/action RPG classic Borderlands will be one of many Xbox 360 titles that players who own the Xbox One will be able to play.
It's available for Preview members today, provided you already own the game in your digital library.
You'll be able to carry over your previously-saved files, game add-ons and achievements that you acquired on the Xbox 360.
“We are proud to support Xbox One Backward Compatibility by bringing the complete, original Borderlands to Xbox One, including all downloadable content,” said 2K President Christoph Hartmann. “We know many of our fans have put in dozens, even hundreds, of hours exploring the world of Pandora on their Xbox 360, and now they can continue their adventures on Xbox One.”
Xbox One Backward Compatibility is expected to come out this November for free, giving players the opportunity to try out old games on their new platform without having to dust off an Xbox 360. It will launch with the compatibility of more than 100 Xbox 360 titles.
