Forward operating bases are going to be a major factor in Metal Gear The Phantom Pain soon, as the Mother Base coins pricing has been revealed.
This screenshot was revealed for PSN, with the prices confirmed below:
· $79.95 for 6000 coins
· $48.95 for 3500 coins
· $15.95 for 1150 coins
· $7.50 for 550 coins
· $1.65 for 100 coins
Forward operating bases are basically extra bases you build around the world on top of your home base. They add an online component to Metal Gear The Phantom Pain that’s separate from the still coming Metal Gear Online.
The way they work is each FOB earns resources that you can put back into updating the Mother Base. On top of that, players can attack each other’s FOBs. You can learn more about the FOB systems here.
Konami shared this information earlier regarding forward operating base monetization:
To clarify, the initial FOB, which includes the FOB command platform and all sub-platforms, is not behind a Mother Base coin paywall. Maintaining other FOBs past the initial set of FOB platforms can be purchased with Mother Base coins. More information regarding the payment model for FOB will be provided closer to launch.
Metal Gear The Phantom Pain will be released on Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 1. Are you looking forward to playing with the FOBs? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
