If you were to come up with a list of the most anticipated games of 2022, then God of War Ragnarök would definitely be topping many a list, but fans of the series will now have to wait a little bit longer to see any more details of the game.
Now, we all know how big of a success the first game was, and if you don’t then you’ve been living under a rock. Trying to emulate that success, for God of War Ragnarök is an almighty task, but Santa Monica Studios seem hellbent on bringing something that betters the first. A release date should have either been revealed or at least plans for one in the not-too-distant future should be well underway. But the news today is that the God of War Ragnarök State of Play shouldn’t be expected in May or anytime soon.
An industry insider who goes by the name ‘ashhong’ (one with a pretty solid track record as well might we add) says that there will not be any God of War Ragnarök news anytime soon – now that is a giant kick in the teeth isn’t it. The news came after a thread was seen on Resetera about whether or not there would be a God of War Ragnarök-focused State of Play towards the end of May, to which the user replied with a simple “too soon”. Now, this is broad, we know, but it does give us an inkling of the idea that the company is still keeping things close to its chest, and that it is indeed too soon to release any new details regarding the game.
The anticipation for this game is reaching boiling point, fans are becoming impatient, and PlayStation itself has also been incredibly quiet about the whole situation. Santa Monica studios, on the other hand, have confirmed that the game will still be coming out later this year, however, the game is not ready to be shown on a grand scale yet. So, just sit tight and try to be patient, the game will arrive… at some point.
