Xûr, Destiny’s in-game exotic weapon and armor vendor, has revealed on Instagram new exotic items coming to Bungie’s first-person shooter in the upcoming The Taken King expansion pack, as it promised it would.
The first item Xûr revealed was a helmet for the titan class called Empyrean Bellicose. The official description of the item reads: "This barely understood Golden Age technology once held aloft the floating gardens of Pomona Mons. Now, it's stopping bullets."
Xûr himself also says the helmet will give titans the ability to hover in the air for a short amount of time when aiming with their weapons and collecting orbs when the titan’s super is full will recharge its melee attack.
The second item revealed is a shotgun by the name of The Chaperone. The item description is a quote from Amanda Holliday that reads, “My mother had a shotgun we called the Chaperone. Kept us alive out there, before we got to the City.”
Xûr says of The Chaperone: “The Chaperone Exotic shotgun fires a single slug shot and grants an Agility boost when equipped. Your precision kills will grant a brief increase to Handling, Range, Rate of Fire, and Stability.”
Next up is an exotic chestpiece for warlocks called Alchemist’s Rainment. “Warlocks: reshape the world and turn iron to gold with the Alchemist's Raiment. Collecting Primary Ammo will give you a chance to gain glimmer. Orbs collected when your Super is full recharge your grenades and melee,” Xûr says of the new chestpiece.
Switching back to weapons, Xûr revealed a new exotic fusion rifle called Telesto, which will fire projectiles that attach to enemies and then detonate for void damage. The interesting perk about this weapon is that when a multikill is made with the weapon orbs will drop.
Finally, Xûr revealed a pair of hunter gauntlets called Sealed Ahamkara Grasps. They grant the hunter an extra melee charge and gives melee damage a change to reload the hunter’s primary weapon.
These weapons and armor will be available when The Taken King launches on Sept. 15 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. Bungie will also be showing off a new strike from The Taken King during a livestream tomorrow, Aug. 26.
