There’s no shortage of new games on the way in 2022 and one of the most interesting looking new titles expected to launch later in the year is Dysterra. The game, which is a hybrid of a sci-fi first-person shooter adventure and a survival and crafting simulation, is set in a dystopian future Earth universe where Earth’s resources have been mined all the way down to its core. That’s a pretty unsettling premise, to begin with, but looks like it makes an ideal scenario for a sci-fi survival adventure. Think Rust, but far off into the future.
Needless to say, the Earth is in a bad way, and it’ll be down to players to source Terrasite (otherwise known as the one most powerful mineral on Earth) and use it to craft their own bases and weapons. This fight for survival on the last days of Earth is still in development, however, publisher Kakao Games and developer Reality MagiQ have today announced that Dysterra will be open to players for an upcoming global beta test this May.
If you’re interested in being part of the planned global beta test for the game, you can sign up right now. All you need to do is visit the game’s page on Steam and click the ‘request access’ button to take part in the multiplayer beta.
The developers have made some tweaks to the gameplay and UI following previous tests with the game’s followers, in the hope that those who take part in the upcoming global beta will get more satisfaction out of the game’s combat and skill acquisition system. In addition, Reality MagiQ has modified some of the game’s difficult crafting requirements for the duration of the beta and is hoping to encourage the maximum level of player interaction during the worldwide multiplayer testing session.
If you’re keen to give Dysterra a try, sign up for the beta over on the game’s Steam page now. While there’s no planned release date for the full game as yet, it’ll definitely be one to keep an eye on over the summer.
