When Square Enix's Theatrhythm was shown off at Tokyo Game Show most recently, we were happy to discover what the game was really about, because the official descriptions were somewhat lacking. In the simplest terms, the hard-to-pronounce Theatrhythm looks a lot like Elite Beat Agents with a Final Fantasy motif.
The player takes on the role of various characters from the Final Fantasy series as they explore each of their little vignettes that make up the game as music from the games those characters belong to plays in the background.
Here's what's been confirmed so far:
"Eternal Wind" from Final Fantasy III
"Terra's Theme" from Final Fantasy VI
"The Sunleth Waterscape" Final Fantasy XIII
"Main Theme" from Final Fantasy VII
"Waltz for the Moon" from Final Fantasy VIII
"Challenge of Fate" Final Fantasy XIII
"Suteki da ne" Final Fantasy X
"Memoro S ^ tono" Final Fantasy XI
"Behind the Door" from Final Fantasy IX
"Battle Scene" from Final Fantasy I
"Clash on the Big Bridge" from Final Fantasy V
"One-Winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII
"The Decisive Battle" Final Fantasy VI
Theatrhythm is set for a Winter 2011 release on the Nintendo 3DS.
