The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta is now available to all who own a PlayStation 4, according to developer Treyarch on Twitter.
“Let’s dial this up a notch,” the tweet reads. “The PlayStation 4 #BO3Beta is now open for all PS4 players. Let’s go!”
Previously, the only way to get into the beta was to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which would then grant you a code to redeem for access to the beta. The beta is scheduled to run from Aug. 19-23 on PlayStation 4 and then Aug. 26-30 on Xbox One and PC. Currently, players must pre-order a copy of the game for Xbox One or PC to receive codes to access the beta on those respective platforms. It is unknown if Treyarch will open up the Xbox One and PC betas to all players on those platforms as the developer has done with the PlayStation 4 beta.
Earlier today, Treyarch also added a few new features to the beta in an update. As of today, the beta saw the addition of an increased level cap (34), a new map called Stronghold that is set in the snowy Alps of Switzerland, and a new Specialist class called the Reaper.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on Nov. 6 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. No betas have been scheduled for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
