Just when you thought Age of Wonders 3 couldn't get any better, its developers at Triumph Studios have announced that they will be adding free modding support to the game.
The developers have stated that they plan to release modding support as a part of their next patch, which is slated for release not too long from now. The patch, which also adds new features, polish and bug fixes, is "shaping up nicely."
The addition of modding support will allow creative gamers to create their own units, spells, and more.
According to the developers, you'll be able to overhaul game balance, add new specializations, and create brand new units. These creations can then be shared with the global player base through Steam Workshop or any other community.
You won't be able to change core gameplay, models, and textures, but if it's something Triumph's designers can do, you can do it too.
Mods are enabled and disabled in the launcher, so you'll be able to pick and choose what you want to use—even in multiplayer.
