Disney Interactive and Avalanche Software have shared some huge details for Disney Infinity 3.0 in yesterday’s D23 event, which promises to be the most fanservicey installment of the series yet. Towering over all other announcements is the pack’s ultimate unlock: Kingdom Hearts’ Keyblade.
Previous ultimate unlocks were a lightsaber and Luke Skywalker’s landspeeder, baiting Star Wars’ eventual entry into the Disney Infinity canon. Now, we know for sure Kingdom Hearts is joining the canon as well, but fans may have to wait a little longer for it. Fans are stressing over this addition, and for good reason, since acquiring the Keyblade requires you collect every Disney Infinity figure out now.
Also announced as upcoming figures in this line are these characters from these upcoming films: Finn and Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Spot from The Good Dinosaur, and Judy and Nick from Zootopia. Peter Pan will also be joining the batch.
But 3.0 is going beyond this. There will be a special Star Wars LightFX figures, with light up sabers. Marvel is introducing Marvel battlegrounds, which adds four player coop multiplayer in the IP for the first time. Any combination of as much as four Marvel heroes (or villains) can jump into Battlegrounds’ story based levels.
