The upcoming Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will offer mod support. This should come as no surprise to fans of the first game, which saw tons of mods developed for it, including a Game of Thrones mod and a Warhammer mod, both of which transformed the game with units and factions from their respective settings.
According to the game's developer Taleworlds, the upcoming title is set to offer extensive modding support, including tools for modders.
"The new engine that we have is so much easier to work with for modders," said Taleworlds founder ArmaÄŸan Yavuz in an interview with PC Gamer at Gamescom 2015.
"We have things like the terrain editor, the scene editor, etc. Those are much improved. They will give greater tools for modders. Also, our scripting system is now using .NET, so players will be able to write in C#. It is going to be much easier for them to create mods."
Additionally, the game's engine will also improve things for any players who want to enable mods in their game by supporting multiple mods together at the same time. Players will be able to pick the mods that they want and use them all together to customize their own experience.
The developer offered an example of how players could use a mod that altered the game's user interface together with one that modified the games items, and another that changes the game's political system. Players will be able to combine all of these mods and run them at the same time. Kind of like Skyrim, basically.
Beyond the modding system, new features of Bannerlord were revealed at the event.
