The team behind the incredible-looking upcoming Fallout mod Fallout: London has shared the latest progress update in a new video. The 1st Quarter 2022 Progress Video showcases some of the latest updates to the mod, which is an expansive, DLC-sized mod for Bethesda’s Fallout 4.
In the video, some of the lead developers and designers share the latest news on the status of the mod. Additionally, voice actress Letitia Lemon apologises for the lack of recent updates on the mod, explaining (somewhat cryptically) that the team have been “doing huge work networking with some big names behind the scenes”. What exactly this means, we’ll have to wait and see, but given that Bethesda is well aware of the mod’s development (and in fact has since hired one of the team’s former writers for themselves), could it be that talks have been ongoing with Fallout 4‘s main devs?
Fallout: London is an ambitious project that has been in development for around four years now. Intended as a continuation of the base game, Fallout: London will see players able to access and explore an entirely new location and engage with the world of Fallout 4 from an entirely new cultural and social perspective.
The new update clip shares two new radio tracks for the mod, as well as a look at some of the lore around a couple of the mod’s factions, the ‘Tommies’ and ‘The Gentry’. We also meet some of the characters players can expect to encounter in-game, such as Tommies commander General Asquith, Arthur, leader of the Camelot faction and a number of further companion and background NPCs.
Alongside these character-based updates, there’s also a more detailed look at some of the level design in-game, including a look at a post-apocalyptic reimagining of Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the areas of Lambeth, Brixton, Croydon (you must never go there) and the newly-created Eastminster.
While there’s still no official word on when Fallout: London will be released, the video explains that the team hopes “the end is in sight”.
