Skunkwerks Kinetic has teamed up with science fiction writer William Gibson to put together a new game called MEG 9: Lost Echoes. The game has just been submitted to Steam Greenlight and its developers are seeking upvotes from players interested in playing the game.
In MEG 9, players are introduced to a hostile environment known as the Probability Aperture, in which a high-tech research complex called Horizon has gone off the grid. In its space, the lone AI construct MEG has triggered a distress call and is seemingly under attack from nightmarish creatures.
Players take control of the Rig, a 10-ton remote operated vehicle outfitted with guns and a variety of tools to uncover what happened to Horizon. As you can see in the trailer, the game plays like a third-person shooter in which players control the vehicle, summon turrets, and hack terminals.
“It's been a long journey, but now that we are finally pulling back the curtain on MEG 9: Lost Echoes, we couldn't be more excited.” says Creative Director, Stephen Parkes. ”William Gibson has helped us tremendously in creating such a rich narrative playground, and we can't wait to show more of it to folks at PAX Prime 2015!”
Further details can be found at the game's official website.
