16-bit Inspired Twin-Stick Shooter Tower 57 Launches on Kickstarter

August 3, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Tower 57 has launched on Kickstarter.

There's a new Kickstarter for a twin-stick shooter called Tower 57. It's a 16-bit inspired game with pixel art graphics and destructible environments, fffering a heavy focus on co-op gameplay. Tower 57 is set to come out on the PC, Mac and Linux.

Tower 57 is set in the ruins of an Art Deco-meets-Cyberpunk world, in which humanity is split between warring societies living in mega towers surrounded by radioactive wasteland. Sounds a bit like Judge Dredd with the art direction of Bioshock. The game itself looks like it takes inspiration from The Chaos Engine and Heavy Barrel.

The game is playable with both the gamepad as well as the mouse and keyboard.

Players can choose from a cast of six different characters with their own unique skills and looks, all of whom can equip a wide range of unique weapons that vary in ability.

A full host of features and details about Tower 57 can be found on the game's official Kickstarter page, where the developers seem to have left nothing out.

Watch the gameplay trailer below.
