The demo is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U, and you can use previous control schemes, but also take advantage of the newest feature; using your smartphone as a controller. If you want to give this a try, you will also have to download the app to your smartphone, and then connect your console and smartphone to the same WiFi network.
Now, the one song available in the demo is Blame by Calvin Harris, and this was a deliberate choice by the developers. Creative directors Alki Argyriadis and Veronique Halbrey explained that they wanted to meet fan demand for more cool choreographies geared towards guys.
With Blame, they found a song and dance routine that would make guys feel powerful, as if they were taking over the dance floor. From a design perspective, they focused on the relationship between the dancer and the visual effects. The end result makes the player focus on the choreography, and I can personally vouch it can be fun to play.
You can watch the developers talk about making the demo above, and also a bonus video where Ubisoft got a group of dads to play the demo as well.
Just Dance 2016 will be released on October 23, 2015 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Wii U. Does this make you want to give it a try? Or have you already played the demo? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
