Electronic Arts developer DICE has revealed today that a 10v10 Team Deathmatch mode called Blast will be making it into Star Wars Battlefront.
In Blast, Rebel and Impertial factions will go against each other in 10v10 matches. The first team to reach 100 kills within 10 minutes will be declared the winner.
“One battle you’ll be fighting within interior levels on Endor or Sullust,” said lead level designer Dennis Brännvall in a new blog posted by the studio. “In the next battle, you might find yourselves among Tatooine’s dusty canyons, or inside the undeniably cool Ice Caves on Hoth.
“My favorite is the verticality of Tatooine, fighting by the Sandcrawler.”
Blast happens to take place in close quarters maps, so players can expect to experience battles similar to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4's Operation Metro and Operation Locker, from the sounds of it.
Additionally, Blast mode does not contain any vehicles, hero or villain characters, and weapons are scattered throughout the map.
Star Wars Battlefront is set to launch on November 17 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 just weeks ahead of the new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens movie. Anyone who buys the game ahead of its release will also receive the Battle of Jakku DLC.
