September 16, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

Battlefield 3 gets a live demo at the Tokyo Game Show, giving Japanese gamers their first taste at the FPS.

By now, you may have already seen the "Operation Guillotine" trailer from DICE's Battlefield 3, which blew up right here about a week ago. Since then, new footage has emerged from the Tokyo Game Show where a live demo of the single player mission was staged for the Japanese audience.

Running at almost six minutes in length, Japanese gamers had a chance to engage in Operation Guillotine, a nocturnal raid taking place in Tehran, Iran. The demo contains a stunning display of the game's physics and real time lighting. It's a taste of things to come.

Battlefield 3 is scheduled for an October 25 release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In addition to the superior visuals, players on who pick up the PC version of the game can expect to engage in online combat with 63 other players.

We expect to post more videos of the game in the days and weeks to come.
