Wonder Festival creeped through the weekend, and along with it were several video game related toy announcements. In fact, this year may have had the most video game related figures in a while, with highlights from Metal Gear, Nintendo, and various fighting games.
Max Factory is the biggest game IP manufacturer this year, with the highlight of the show being the polygonal Akira and Sarah figures from Virtua Fighter. These may be based more on their appearance in Virtua Fighter 4: Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary than the first game, which is good news for fans who would want to get more characters than in the original roster in the future.
Also on display was a Sorceress from Dragon’s Crown, a Ramlethal Valentine from Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, and a Makoto from Persona 3. Coming in the near future but without displays are Figmas for Metroid Other M and The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds.
Under Good Smile’s Nendoroid line, they have revealed new Nendoroids for Mega Man, Marth, Naked Snake, and Majora’s Mask Link.
Kaiyodo have a Venom Snake from the Metal Gear series, and Monster Hunter Revoltech for the Felyne warriors, Kirin armor female hunter and Kaiser X Hunter male hunter.
Embrace Japan are making a Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Ryu figure, as well as a true show stealer, the ‘continue’ beaten faces of the original Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior cast.
On another end, Kotobukiya teased Ibuki from Street Fighter, clearly to join their Shunya Yamashita designed Bishoujo line. Kotobukiya also dropped teases for Pokemon figures, starting with Pokemon Red. Megahouse did display some prototypes for Pokemon characters Jesse and Wobbuffet.
Rise Kujikawa from Persona 4: Dancing All Night is getting two separate figures, from Phat Company and then from Sega Prize (pictured), where she will be joined by Yukiko.
Union Creative International is making a Raiden and Naked Snake from Metal Gear, and a sick Decapre from Ultra Street Fighter IV, which you saw above.
Believe it or not, we still passed over a lot of other video game WonFes toys! You can check them all out, including all the pics, from our source.
