There's a lot of hidden secrets in Destiny, but killing all 8 Gorgons in the Vault of Glass raid before any more of them can spawn to unlock hidden treasures simply isn't one of them.
The myth that killing the Gorgons before they respawn to unlock a secret of unearth some hidden easter egg has been one that's been around for as long as the raid itself. And so, Destiny players being what they are, a group of some of the most hardcore gamers from reddit's r/raidsecrets subreddit came together to see what they could find, or at the very least bust the myth and post their findings.
Managing to kill all 8 Gorgons before they spawn further entities is really difficult, but it isn't impossible. It took the group many tries before they finally accomplished it. They recorded their "world first" accomplishment in a YouTube video for posterity and shared it with the rest of the Destiny community. You can check it out below.
Reddit user Killtrend explains what's happening in the video as the team manages to kill all 8 Gorgons at the same time. Unfortunately for them, and much to our own disappointment, nothing special happens. No secrets are unlocked and no hidden chest shows up to reward the players. Consider that myth busted.
Killtrend and his team may not have received any rewards, but they have every right to feel proud of their accomplishment. Feats like it stand as a testament to the prowess of gamers, who will stop at nothing to overcome any challenges thrown our way.
