Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns’ Elementalist Elite Specialization Revealed

July 23, 2015 by Stephen Daly

Get your first in-game look at the tempest tomorrow on Twitch.

ArenaNet has revealed the elite specialization for the elementalist profression which will debut in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. The elite specialization is called tempest which "enables players to harness the elements with a myriad of new skills and a new weapon to utilize – the warhorn."

Karl McLain, a game designer at ArenaNet, offers us a look at the benefits which come with selecting this elite specialization, and offers insight into how it was created during Heart of Thorns' development.

The specilization is effective at close range and offers the ability to damage enemies, heal allies, and offer supporting bonuses. A particularly powerful move is the 'Eye of the Storm' which enables players to summon a storm down on the allies and other characters. This move breaks stun on anyone affected by it and can make use of earth, air, fire, or water to aid the player and their allies.

McLain and Rubi Bayer will join Points of Interest host Rubi Bayer this Friday, July 24th at 12:00 Pacific time on the official Guild Wars 2 Twitch channel to offer players the first in-game glimpse of the tempest's abilities.

A new revenant legand was recently unveiled for the game.
