Blizzard has shared a preview for the upcoming new lethal zone for Diablo 3 with patch 2.3. Welcome to the Ruins of Sescheron.
Sescheron is a literal call back to Diablo 2 expansion Lord of Destruction. If you may not remember playing that game, it allowed you to enter the freshly destroyed remnants of the city of the Barbarians, and seek out and end the domination of Baal and his Burning Hells.
It’s been many years since Chief Elder Kanai chose to defy Baal, and fail doing so. Now, the once vibrant city of Sescheron is a set of ruins, filled with a broken people, shadows of what once was, and the spectre of death hanging everywhere.
You can find the Ruins of Sescheron from the Act 3 Adventure Mode map. You will want to talk to Zoltun Kulle before endeavoring to find Kanai’s Cube, the powerful relic the Horadric Cube was built out of. Found in Kanai’s lost tomb, it will let you do even more than the Horadric Cube could. For example, you will be able to break down Legendary items and reequip their effect as passive skills.
The Ruins of Sescheron are playable in PTR Preview now and will be coming with Patch 2.3 shortly.
