GameSpot reports that an officially licensed PlayStation 4 media remote will be available to purchase later this year.
Gaming accessories company PDP is responsible for the controller's design, and you'll be able to pick one up from retailers in October for $30. The remote is currently listed on both Amazon and GameStop.
Wireless Bluetooth-enabled control for up to four devices is available via the remote, and can be used to control your TV, audio-receiver, and set-top box in addition to your PS4.
You'll be able to use it control playback on your console without using a DualShock 4, which isn't the smoothest input device for non-gaming content.
The media remotes will require two AAA batteries and battery life is said to last at least six months under normal use.
Sony did produce their own media remote for the PS3 but have yet to confirm plans to do the same on PS4 but, as mentioned above, PDP's remote is officially licensed.
