Over half a year ago, some of the folks at the mechanical keyboard enthusiast website GeekHack started a group buy for Fallout-inspired keycaps to use on their mechanical keyboards.
These customized keycaps were first designed by mogo, a member of the community and then manufactured by Signature Plastics. The keycaps were made in doubleshot ABS plastic and polycarbonate. They even had glow-in-the-dark legends for that true Fallout feel. In all, over 250 sets were purchased.
The keycaps featured Vault 13, Vault 101, and Nuka Cola legends.
Did I mention that they glow in the dark?
It's been seven months since the successful drop, and the person who started the first group buy, 00zeRO, is checking the community's interest in a new set of Nuka Cola keycaps to celebrate the upcoming release of Fallout 4. The new keycap is in DSA profile, so they'll be slightly shallower than your average keys.
We might have all missed out on the last drop, but if you've got a mechanical keyboard, consider yourself a Fallout fan, and love the idea of customizing your escape key, head on over to the forum and let them know you're interested in participating in the group buy.
