In the growing list of amazing Japan-exclusives, gamers can add a Nintendo Switch OLED sold in a “mouthful” box designed to look like it’s been swallowed by Kirby. Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches later this month, so Nintendo is of course ramping up marketing on the upcoming title. The big pink box is inspired by the game’s mechanic where Kirby is able to eat large objects such as cars and vending machines and actually use them. When the first trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land was released, the internet went crazy for Carby. This is of course is Kirby as a car, the result of the pink puffball swallowing up an automobile whole.
The special edition box is exclusively being sold on the official Japanese Nintendo website at no extra cost, priced at 37,980 yen for the Nintendo Switch OLED. Although, it will most likely start popping up on sites like eBay with international delivery. Probably, alongside extortionate prices.
In other exciting Kirby news, a surprise demo for Kirby and the Forgotten Land launched yesterday on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Players can try out the first three levels of the game, all located in the first world of the 3D platformer. Early players of the game have likened it to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Last of Us. Suffice to say, anticipation is incredibly high for the next installment to the Kirby franchise. Players are excited to transform into various objects with Mouth Mode and smash through walls with the mode, Pipe Mouth. The first 3D Kirby game has high expectations to live up to with gamers, hopefully, it can.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land officially releases in just a few weeks on March 25, 2022, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, whether your console came in an adorable Kirby box or not.
